L-Arginine and ammonia are two of the three elements of YAN: primary amino nitrogen must also be measured in order to calculate total YAN. High urea is associated with the formation of harmful ethyl carbamate in wine. This assay kit has a total reaction time of 20 min and gives sequential values for ammonia, urea and L-arginine. Each kit contains reagents for 150 assays (50 of each) using a standard manual spectrophotometer or 300 tests using the MegaQuant™ Wave.
